DUFF MCKAGAN To Guest On 'Opie & Anthony Show' Tomorrow

February 11, 2009

VELVET REVOLVER and ex-GUNS N' ROSES bassist Duff McKagan will be interviewed on the "Opie & Anthony Show" tomorrow morning (Thursday, February 12) beginning at 8:00 a.m. EST. You can hear the program live on Sirius XM satellite radio or via 92.3 WXRK-FM (KROCK). The show will also be spinning the new single from DUFF McKAGAN'S LOADED, titled "Flatline".

A humorous portion of Duff's last appearance on "Opie & Anthony" was captured on video and can be viewed below.

Duff McKagan recently published the first two installments of his new financial advice column, "Appetite For Investment", at Playboy.com. McKagan has become something of a financial expert after profitably investing his royalties and getting his business degree back in the late '90s. He told The Pulse of Radio what he hopes he can provide to his readers. "I think in this climate, what I do have to offer is that perhaps I can simplify everything and start back from square one, and give people some confidence," he said. "Most people don't know about finance and that's okay. We're not taught about it. In this column, it's gonna be a place you can come to really start reading about the basics of finance."

McKagan does have an opinion on the hottest topic in the country right now, President Barack Obama's economic stimulus plan. With Congressional Democrats mostly for it and almost all Republicans against it, McKagan explained which side he takes. "My grandfather was a part of the New Deal, that (President Franklin) Roosevelt had in the '30s, getting us out of the Depression," he said. "And some Republicans will argue that Roosevelt didn't get us out of the Depression, that things stayed the same, and I argue that it would have got a lot worse without Roosevelt. So I think we need that drastic of a move now. We need to employ people with building infrastructure. So I back Obama."

McKagan also writes a weekly column about anything that strikes his imagination, called "Reverb", at SeattleWeekly.com.

He has been interviewed on PBS and other news outlets about finance and the business aspects of being a rock musician.

McKagan's side band, DUFF MCKAGAN's LOADED, will release its latest album, called "Sick", on April 7.

He also said that VELVET REVOLVER is closing in on a new vocalist and might have some news to announce shortly.
